Sometimes when you can’t figure out what to wear, it’s best to just go monochromatic. And in the winter, that tends to mean all black to match the cold dreary weather. But I challenge you to try something new next time you’re standing in front of your closet with nothing to wear.
Grab the white jeans and all the neutrals.
You heard me right. Wearing white jeans in the winter is totally doable. And may I add a very chic way to style a closet staple. All white and cream just looks luxurious and elevated. It’s one of my favorite things and I honestly don’t know why I don’t do it more. My grandmother is notorious for this. She’s all about the beige, and creams and it’s never failed her.
How To Wear White Jeans In The Winter
There’s definitely a few fashion rules you’ll want to follow when wearing your white denim in the winter months. But I promise you, you have these pieces in your closet already and pulling together outfits will be a cinch!
Stick To Season Appropriate Fabrics
The number one thing to keep in mind are your fabrics. Do not pair your summer tops that are lace, eyelet or seersucker for winter. Instead, grab your wools, cashmere, knits and cotton button downs to style with your white jeans. This will keep everything feeling season appropriate.
Go Monochromatic
A foolproof way to wear white jeans in the winter is to pair them with all of your neutrals. A cream sweater, cream or white sneakers, camel coat, tan sweaters. You name it, if it’s in a neutral colorway, it’ll work perfectly with white jeans. It instantly pulls a look together that feels intentional and insanely stylish.
Grab Any White Jeans
Any pair of white jeans will work for styling them in the winter. Skinny jeans, high waist wide leg jeans, wide-leg crops and even relaxed vintage fits are perfect. These are all are great options for styling white jeans in the winter. I think the next style of white jeans I’ll be adding to my closet is a more relaxed straight leg fit similar to these vintage jeans that I love. My only white denim style tip here is to leave the denim shorts and skirts in the closet until spring! There will never be a time and place for them in the winter, period.
Pair With Winter Hues
Whenever you’re styling your white jeans for winter, just try swapping out your favorite winter outfits that include jeans with white jeans. It really should almost always work just fine. Just think about winter hues paired with white. It’s such a nice lighter palette. A hunter green sweater with cognac booties, perfect fall and winter outfit with white jeans. Or a plum sweater with a suede nude Chelsea boot. As long as you’re sticking to winter hues AND winter fabrics, you’re bound to make this look happen.
