Festive Friends Event at the Abbey Theatre – Backstage Tour, Food, Wine and Play

The RHA Friends are invited to a Special Festive Friends event for the last event of the year. Beginning with a backstage tour of the Abbey Theatre, then a private function in the Abbey bar with an assortment of food and wine, ending in a showing of the wonderful, award-winning play ‘The Long Christmas Dinner’, on the Peacock Stage at the Abbey.

Director’s Tour of In and of Itself, Abstraction in the age of images

Led by the RHA Director, Patrick T. Murphy, who curated In and of Itself, this tour will offer important insights in the making of this exhibition and a detailed look at the works of several contributing artists.

Joanna Kidney – Masterclass

This workshop will cover a wide range of technical and intuitive processes involved with encaustic paint: surface preparation; in-depth additive and subtractive techniques and tools; opacity and translucency and compatible drawing media.

RHA SCHOOL

Critical Correspondence Course 2023

Led by artist and art critic, James Merrigan, alongside an invited guest artist and mentors, a total of eight participating artists meet three times a year at the RHA School. The group will utilise both one-to-one and communal presentations and appraisals during three in-person critiques held at the RHA, between each crit, the participating artists receive two written feedback reviews, for the artist to consider prior to the final critique.

Closing date for all applications: 12th December, 5 pm.
